Soundings

Currents is full of Tidewater community news and information and comes out on the 15th of the month. Soundings is full of opinion, advice and education to nurture your parenting and relationships. It is published on the 1st of the month.

Handy Parent Guide — In an effort to consolidate family obligations with the various Festivals, each class has been assigned a specific Festival for which they are responsible for providing the necessary materials and/or food.

Family Fun Weekends — Family Fun Weekends are obligation free. Show up anytime and leave whenever. Bring friends or come alone. Most activities scheduled are free.

Professional Development for Tidewater Faculty

Early Childhood faculty, Elizabeth Lunt, Jess Moore and Karen Traversy attended the week long International Waldorf Conference with participants from 33 counties worldwide. It was held in Wilton, NH.

First Grade teacher Diana Carlson attended Antioch New England Graduate Schoolthis summer where she is enrolled in a Masters of Education Program that includes a Waldorf Teaching Certificate.

Martha Coombs is enrolled in Spatial Dynamics Training. The name Spacial Dynamics® was coined in 1984. It is now the servicemark name for a growing body of spatially oriented movement exercises, activities, and games, a unique spatial approach to posture, and a refined method of movement observation and analysis developed and worked out by Jaimen McMillan (SDI’s Director) over nearly twenty years of intensive study, teaching, and therapeutic work with children and adults in the U.S. and Europe.

Trish Frey attended a week long early childhood training at Sunbridge College in NY.

Summer, 2008: Exit Interview for Departing Families

The Faculty and Board of Tidewater is interested in hearing from departing families. We want your feedback on how things went for you and your child, what your concerns are and how we can improve.
